SplitNyte ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using SplitNyte, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

- Gender (optional — used for venue-specific promotional offers where permitted by law)
- Profile photo (optional — no facial recognition or biometric analysis performed)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe; we never store card numbers)
- Event details you create or join
- Chat messages and GIFs sent within the platform
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (model, OS, unique identifiers)
- Usage data (features, actions, timestamps)
- IP address and approximate location
- Log data and crash reports
- Note: Our Service does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
1.3 From Third Parties
- Google Sign-In: name, email, and profile photo
- Stripe: payment confirmation, last 4 card digits, transaction IDs
1.4 Biometric Data
SplitNyte does not collect, process, or store biometric identifiers. Profile photos are stored as standard image files only. We do not perform facial recognition or any biometric analysis on any images.

3. TEXT MESSAGE (SMS) COMMUNICATIONS
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive transactional SMS messages from SplitNyte regarding your account, events, payment confirmations, and security notifications. Message and data rates may apply. Transactional messages cannot be fully opted out of while your account is active. If we send marketing SMS, you may opt out by replying STOP. SplitNyte does not sell your phone number to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
4.1 With Event Hosts
By joining an event, you expressly consent to sharing your legal name, phone number, email, gender (if provided), and payment status with the event host for guest list management and identity verification. Event hosts are independent users solely responsible for their handling of your data. SplitNyte does not control or monitor how hosts use participant information outside the Service.
4.2 With Service Providers

4.3 Legal Requirements & Fraud Prevention
We may disclose your information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SplitNyte or our users. SplitNyte cooperates with law enforcement and may share information to investigate or prevent fraud.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Payment records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for financial compliance. You may request account deletion at support@splitnyte.com. Some data may be retained after deletion where required by law or for fraud prevention.
6. PAYMENT SECURITY
All payment processing is handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified). SplitNyte does not store card numbers. When you join an event, Stripe places a pre-authorization hold on your card. This hold is captured at the time designated by the event host. You will not receive individual advance notice before capture — the authorization you provide upon joining the event constitutes sufficient consent.
7. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
All Users
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data. Contact support@splitnyte.com to exercise these rights. We will respond within 45 days.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise California privacy rights, contact support@splitnyte.com with the subject "California Privacy Request."
Nevada, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut Residents
Residents of these states have additional privacy rights under applicable law. Contact support@splitnyte.com to exercise your rights.
International Users
SplitNyte is operated in the United States. If you access our Service internationally, your data may be processed in the U.S. For EEA/UK users, we process data based on contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal compliance, and consent where required.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
SplitNyte is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. We reserve the right to verify age and suspend suspected underage accounts immediately. Contact support@splitnyte.com if you believe a minor has created an account.
9. SECURITY
No method of transmission is 100% secure. We will notify you of material data breaches as required by applicable law.
